Not much has changed since the early days when the prominent western writer Zane Grey immortalized the beautiful Oak Creek Canyon in one of his most famous books, The Call of the Canyon:
" There was a sweet tang of cedar and sage in the air and an indefinable fragrance peculiar to the canyon country of northern Arizona. I never understood anything of the meaning of it until I lived under these looming stone walls and whispering pines. "
Long ranked among the most scenic drives in the country, Oak Creek Canyon offers an abundance of recreational activities. The Butterfly Garden Inn is situated a short fifteen minutes from the picturesque red rocks of Sedona and thirty minutes from Flagstaff.
Oak Creek Canyon is known for its exceptionally beautiful hiking trails that everyone can enjoy. Whether you are a novice or an avid hiker, our Canyon has the trail for you. Just up the road from The Butterfly Garden Inn is one of the Canyon's most beautiful hikes, West Fork.
